Do you take Insurance?

I am not on any insurance panels. I provide a superbill for out-of-network. Some clients have sought a single case agreement for my speciality in Intensive Short Term Dynamic Psychotherapy.

How do I Begin

The initial session is 90 minutes. This gives us an opportunity to go deep, and start to explore right away the patterns and issues you face and what is underneath. As we do this we will start to learn about the ways you deal with, don’t deal, with anxiety.

After the initial 90 min session, clients have the option of working in sessions of 50, 60, 75 or 90 min. Frequency depends on how quickly you can move through. Sometimes intensives are very valuable. In other cases, spacing out or regular work is most helpful.

Why is the work called “intensive short term”

Intensive Short Term Dynamic Psychotherapy is a type of somatic therapy that came out of starting to be more active in doing the depth work of psychoanalysis, when it was found that some people’s defenses or patterns did not change over time. Often this was due to the way our bodies took on, repressed our emotions. In ISTDP we work rapidly to learn to overcome these hurtful defensives and process the emotions that our unconscious has come to believe are not safe to feel.
